final installment?

SEARS guy named Bobbie(not BOPPIE) fixed our fridge, supposedly for good. it had filled with ice throughout, including the waterline. He said ,"it happens". IT DOES?????

they've been her to assess and repair it 5 times in the 18 months since we purchased it but will not rule the refriderator a "lemon" and replace it. if its not a lemon, what is it???????

the boiler issue is still a mystery. The electrician, Boppie, was here last week to unplug something & "see what happens", but we haven't heard from anyone in the 6 or 7 days since. Now, that's service!

big snowstorm last Wednesday. i took a few pictures but it wasn't easy.

husband is working 12 hour days in Boston for the next 2 weeks so I've been busy here.

the dog keeps pooping in the house. why?
back to your regualrly scheduled program!

appliance woes-installment #3?

Boppie came over Friday morning to put the new part in the refridgerator. He arrived just in time to see Kendyl throw up all over the living room for the first of 17 times in the next 7 hours. He also witnessed the dog eating the vomit. He felt so blessed, i am sure of it. Guys wait years to see this stuff, yet he just walked right into it. Lucky man, he is. 48 hours later, everything in the refridgerator was frozen again and we still cannot use the water dispenser. we called thismorning, we await a call back. I'm sure they'll put a rush on it.

Bippie & Boopie came over on Saturday morning to work on the boiler. it still doesn't work properly. the 2nd floor is still at a constant 80*. We await a call back from them also. We won't hold our breath, especially with the storm coming tonight. Cool beans. Have I mentioned we love SEARS?

facing facts & frozen foods

BOOPIE
We have had to face the cold, hard truth. We have bad luck with pets and appliances. Our dogs and cats suffer from horrible, deadly illnesses regardless of the level of care they've received over the years. Lyme disease, Lymphoadjectasia, tapeworms... just to name a few. We just do the best we can and keep telling ourselves(and anyone else privy to our occasioanl rants) that after these pets are gone, we won't ever get another. We lie.

As far as appliances go, we've suffered it all. Our brand new boiler woes continue. Bippie, Boopie and Boppie must be on vacation,(see photo of Boopie above) and now everything in our 18 month old refridgerator is frozen. SEARS is on my hit list. They better watch their backs! This may get ugly before I'm finished. Heads will roll.

I also followed through and called the school to schedule another meeting to discuss Jackson's progress(or lack thereof)-mentioned in a previous blog below. No return call yet. Do they know who they are dealing with??? My adoring spouse and I shared 3 New Years Resolutions. We are both Geminis and traditionally, Geminis have difficulty with being assertive, making decisions and juggling friendships-we both suffer from all 3 of these shortcomings. We both decided to make an effort to become more assertive, keep in touch with the people we love better and be stronger decision makers in the new year. No more wishy washy stuff! (Hey, Daddy, did ya hear that? I'll make ya proud! )

So far? we have both earned a C+ in all 3 areas. Not bad! The Special Ed. Coordinator at Thorntons Ferry Elementary School better get back to me soon. I play hard ball. I do not have time to fool around. Speaking of fooling around, I have appliances to break, I better get moving along with my day. Stay tuned for appliance updates!

being 2

Kendyl LOVES being 2. It happened during a power outage on Jan. 17th 2007. We were staying at Mom's because she had power. We had a little party there and it pleased Kendyl so much, why plan a "real party"? i can save all the Hello Kitty party stuff for next year. Kendyl won't know the difference and she doesn't need any new toys or clothes. Some folks are probably wondering why we haven't invited them to a Birthday Party, I hope they don't take it personally. We just aren't having one this year. Nobody was scratched off the guest list :)

SNOW!!!!!!

hey, it was bound to happen eventually. We received in excess of 3 inches of the white stuff through the evening & overnight. I awoke to the gleeful pitter patter... um.. pounding of the feet of our offspring as they searched for appropriate outdoor attire. ok.. im lying. They wanted to head out the door in t-shirts. After deep discussion, the exchanging of ideas and pointless banter we reached an agreement. Wear what I told you to wear or stay in. I'm so new-wave like that :)

heat, IQ & self esteem

we are suffering oil furnace woes. in October we spent $8,000.00 to have this amazing system installed by SEARS. Yogi calls it "The Binford 6000". It overheats the 2nd floor terribly. It's 80* upstairs at all times. I've spent the last 4 days on the phone trying to talk SEARS, the plumber (we'll call him BIPPIE) and the electrician (we'll call him BOOPIE) who SEARS chose to install our amazing sytem into coming here to REPAIR our amazing system. Nobody is interested. Bippie thinks its a Boopie problem. Boopie thinks it's a Bippie issue. SEARS has evidently installed caller ID and no longer takes my calls at all. Bippie finally showed up today after i threatened bodily harm over the phone and after looking over our amazing system tortured me with a 20 minute speech, filled with very big, technical words, pertaining to the source of our amazing system woes. (for those of you in the field, He used the word convector and pressure alot)As i listened intently, focusing on every word, attempting to process, understand, retain & committ to memory every word he said so that I could relay the speech, word-for-word, to my adoring spouse upon his much awaited arrival this evening..... it suddenly occurred to me that how i felt at that moment(dumb, overwhelmed and stressed) is EXACTLY how Jackson feels at school with his peers and teachers every day. It must change, and now. We are his best & only advocates. His self esteem is at an all-time low, as of late.
I resolve to call the school on Monday morning and demand another meeting. I'll let Bippie & Boopie duke it out and decide what to do with the Binford 6000. I have bigger fish to fry.

opening statement

I've wanted to start a family blog for quite a while, but had no idea how to do it. i still don't know alot, but I'm learning as i go along. I need an outlet to speak my mind, share, vent.... and a place for people to check in on all of us. I hope I don't bore you all!
